The Forgotten Truth & Dr. Weston A. Price

WHO IS DR. WESTON A. PRICE

Dr. Weston A. Price traveled around the world and found answers to what we are beginning to see now as a very serious problem.  What he ended up capturing was at that time and is still to this day simply priceless and yet very few people are even aware of who he was or what he has accomplished.  He was the pioneer of Nutrition research and has been called the “Charles Darwin of Nutrition”.  He stated that “Life in all of its fullness is this mother nature obeyed”, and the people of the world used to practice this very thing yet now rarely do.  He opened up our eyes to the 1 simple truth that has been blatantly ignored by most ever since, that nutrition is the absolute key to health.  He did this by studying cultures and isolated people that had not been introduced to processed foods and that were still eating their traditional ancestral foods.

Dr. Price was born in 1870 and passed away in 1948.  During his time he became a Dentist in the 1920s with his own practice in Cleveland Ohio during the 1930s.  He was a very proficient dentist for his time.  He became the chairman of the Research Section of the American Dental Association in 1914 but sadly in 1923 he was shut out by the ADA for his research and outcry about the negative side effects of root canals.  This also has been blatantly ignored, but more on that later.

Dr. Price had a lot of patients coming to him that asked him “What is a healthy diet and how can I be healthier?”  He did not know the answer to this but he knew that he was seeing increased levels of diseases within his patients as time went on.  He was seeing more dental caries, cavities, and infection in the mouth and increasing incidents of dental deformities and problems with the development of the jaw and the teeth.  He also noticed that people with poor dental health generally had poor overall health as well.

Starting in the 1920′s when a lot of westerners were discovering remote islands and countries, the westerners noticed that these isolated “primitive” people all had very broad faces, and beautifully straight white teeth.  Dr. Price was intrigued by this simple fact, and he decided that he was going to see this for himself, and during the 30s over the course of a decade he embarked on a series of individual studies that brought him too many different places.

Along Dr. Price’s journey he studied people located in many different places.  Among them were the Swiss of Switzerland, the Gaelics in the Outer and Inner Hebrides, the Eskimos of Alaska, the Indians in the far North, West and Central Canada, Western United States and Florida, the Melanesians and Polynesians on eight archipelagos of the Southern Pacific, tribes in eastern and central Africa, the Aborigines of Australia, Malay tribes on islands north of Australia, the Maori of New Zealand and the ancient civilizations and their descendants in Peru both along the coast and in the Sierras, also in the Amazon Basin.  If whites were also available in these locations as well then they were also studied.  He also sent samples of the foods back to his lab to have them analyzed for nutritional content.

He had set out to answer 2 questions that he had, the first being “Was it true that isolated people had excellent dental health”.  If he could in fact find healthy populations in this way then the second question was “What were these populations eating”.  Dr. Price realized in those 10 years that nutrition was the ultimate factor in most disease, that the teeth were a mirror for the rest of the body, and one could make fairly accurate assumptions about an individuals overall health by simply examining their teeth and jaw structure.  He also realized and documented the fact that people with nutritionally dense diets were all healthy and free from virtually all ailments that were common in the processed world at the time.  This did not just include ailments of the mouth.

Once analyzed he found that the foods that they all ate had 4 times the mineral content and 10 times the fat soluble vitamin content of the typical western foods.  He found that each set of people had sacred foods that contained the most nutrition, and that pregnant/nursing women and children were the ones consuming these sacred foods in order to properly grow and support life.  He found that the children were spaced at least 3 year apart to allow the mother’s body to recover and get ready for the next child.  He found that people were generally very happy, optimistic and spiritual regardless of their location and that there were no needs for police or jails because people did not have bad behavior, and many more things were discovered.

Although he set out to find the causes of tooth decay, and found that it was based on nutrition, he also found that a whole slew of changes happened even in the first generation after they started eating processed foods which lacked nutrition.  If processed foods continued in the diet then each generation of children would get worse.  This correlates with what we are seeing today, a rapid decline in health as time goes on.  Is it possible that we might have seen this coming 60 years ago and done something about it? Is it possible that it has been ignored simply for profits?  It is not far from the truth, as it may seem.

There are more people these days that are starting to recognize this simply understood truth, that nutrition is absolutely essential to health, yet the general populations of the world care not to reflect on it nor do they actively research and practice the right measures.  Most people truly want to feel better, look better and be healthier yet most people have not become serious about it.  It is a part of society, ingrained into us from birth, to put your foot half in, and to follow and not lead.  People are still listening to information from mainstream sources, waiting for the answers to come rolling in.  The answers do come rolling in yet they wonder why they are not any healthier when they practice what is preached.  People completely deny any natural/holistic approach to things, so all of the beneficial information gets flushed down the toilet.  It is time to as they say “Wake up and smell the coffee”.

You have got to research for yourself with an open mind.  This applies to anything and not just health.  If you do this then eventually you will find what you are looking for if you truly want to find it.  You will not have any luck correcting your health problems by taking drugs, it simply will not happen.  I found out about Dr. Price 2 years ago yet sadly everyone that I have talked to up until this day has no idea about Dr. Price and his research.  This further solidifies my conclusions about most people, that they are generally misled about health by the “officials” in charge of taking care of the people.  If research by someone like Dr. Price is not known by the general population then something wicked and deceiving is going on, and someone is pulling the strings behind it somewhere along the line.  I can make those assumptions for myself, and I will gladly leave you to make your own.

One can read the book called Nutrition and Physical Degeneration if they want to know all about Dr. Price and what he found, and they can also visit the Weston A. Price Foundation site for all of the information as well as more recent findings by true researchers.  The book is 510 pages long and is full of pictures that document his every finding.  The WAP site is highly recommended as well as the articles are very well written and provide a slew of information on the topic being examined.  They also have tons of their own research in the site.  It is information that would be extremely beneficial for you and everyone you know.

Next up…..  Dr. Price starts his journey.
